SMA Production Meets Type
Conformity Assessment Program

Three Companies currently satisfy the requirements for certification under the SMA Conformity Assessment, Production Meets Type (CA/PMT) program.

Companies:

Hobart Corporation ITW Food Equipment Group
Mettler-Toledo, Inc.
Vishay Transducers

These companies are authorized to affix the SMA Production Meets Type Device Manufacturer seal on those products that are included in their CA/PMT application and audit. They are further authorized to use that seal on their advertising copy for those products.

Proof of a Production Meets Type (PMT) Conformity Assessment Program for HB 44 T.N.8 (For Influence Factors that can only be tested in the laboratory) will most likely be demanded by Pub14 and the NCWM in the near future.

The NCWM seems inclined to accept the SMA program as proof of such a TN-8 PMT Conformity Assessment Program.
Members and Non-Members of SMA are invited to assess the SMA PMT Conformity Assessment Program for TN-8 and consider using it instead of having to invent your own when NTEP and the NCWM begins requiring a VCAP. Click here for a White Paper on the program.
